Welcome to Two Bicycles!
I'm a retired submarine sailor living
in Charleston, South Carolina. I began working on this site several
years ago, mostly to amuse myself and to learn HTML, but also as a vehicle for
sharing current events, pictures and stories with my family and friends.
These days I suspect that I get
far more visitors from the cycling community and have started creating content
targeted to this audience.
The name for the Two Bicycles web site evolved from one of the
first email addresses
we had after my bride and I returned from being stationed in Italy. Fresh from a 3 year
immersion in Italian culture and having met my bride on a bike ride, we chose the
Italian version of "two bicycles" (duebici@isp.com) for our email address.
Several Internet service providers and email addresses later, I still like the
concept and finally purchased the domain name twobicycles.net (sadly, some enterprising
folks in Wisconsin had already taken twobicycles.com).
On this site you'll find a random assortment of hobby (cycling mostly) and travel
related stuff, along with a little computer geekery and maybe even the
odd political commentary.
I strongly encourage visitors to offer feedback and suggestions. I appreciate
even critical comments and enjoy discovering that I'm not the only person who sees
the site.
